Purpose: 

Scholarships will be awarded to provide financial assistance to eligible Maine residents, who are enrolled in a Maine-based, accredited ambulance program, leading to certification as an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT), Advanced Emergency Medical Technicians (AEMT) or Paramedic. The core values of both Damariscotta Pumpkinfest & Regatta, and the Maine Pumpkin Growers Organization, include education, family & community, all of which are enhanced by their financial support of a professionally qualified emergency service organization operating within the State of Maine.

Application Procedure: 

Eligible Maine residents must complete the application, and submit three (3) letters of recommendation, to be considered for The Paris Pierpont Memorial Scholarship. There is no age/educational/experience requirement, but preference will be given to candidates who plan to practice within the State of Maine. Scholarship winners will demonstrate proof of enrollment in one of three emergency ambulance certification programs (either EMT, AEMT or Paramedic) offered by an accredited training agency located within the State of Maine. Scholarship award funds will be paid directly to the accredited emergency service training agency, on behalf of the scholarship winner.

Applications are accepted year round, and winners will be notified promptly by the Damariscotta Pumpkinfest & Regatta scholarship committee.
