Parking can be limited around Damariscotta during the festival weekend.

We recommend utilizing our designated parking lots to either walk into the festival or ride the free shuttle. Details for all options are listed below.

Driving Directions

Heading north from Portland, ME

Damariscotta is about fifty miles northeast of Portland, ME. It is north of Boothbay and south of Waldoboro.

From Portland, travel north on Highway 295 to the exit marked #31 for “Topsham – Lisbon – Route 196” . Turn right at the light onto Route 196-E towards “Route 1 – Bath – Cooks Corner” and drive about 2.5 miles in the left lane onto Highway 1. Continue north on Highway 1 past “Historic Bath” and the exit for “Boothbay Harbor Region”.

Continue past the first exit to Damariscotta until you reach Belvedere Rd. Turn right onto Belvedere Rd, and then another right onto Route 1 - Business/Main Street, Damariscotta where you will find all 3 shuttle parking lots located. If you do not need the shuttle service and would prefer to park and then walk, we recommend taking the first exit into Damariscotta off of Route 1 (US-1 BUS S exit) and then turning left at the stop sign onto Academy Hill St. The Lincoln Academy parking lot is located at the top of the hill.

Heading South from Rockland, ME

Damariscotta is about forty miles from Rockland, ME. It is south of Waldoboro and north of Boothbay.

From Rockland, travel south on Highway 1 for about 25 miles to the Damariscotta turnoff for Business Highway 1. Look for the large orange hay bale pumpkin at N.C. Hunt Lumber Company.

Take a left exit at N.C. Hunt Lumber and continue about one mile to Great Salt Bay School (located on your left at 559 Main Street, Damariscotta, ME 04543) and follow the “Damariscotta Pumpkinfest Shuttle/Parking” signs to the GSB’s FREE PARKING lot.
